The NBA-worst New Orleans Pelicans will be without Zion Williamson for at least three weeks due to a right adductor injury.

Williamson played 31 minutes Saturday against the Golden State Warriors before sitting out the next day against the Los Angeles Lakers with what the Pelicans called left hamstring injury management.

Saturday’s game was just the 10th of the season for Williamson, who has had a tough time staying on the court since New Orleans (3-18) selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Williamson has played in only 224 of the Pelicans’ 493 regular-season games since the 2019-20 season, and he also missed all 10 of New Orleans’ play-off contests and four of their five NBA Play-In Tournament matchups during that stretch.

Even though Williamson has dealt with many injuries, he still managed to earn two All-Star selections while averaging 24.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists in his career.
