Medvedev brushes aside Brooksby to reach last four in Dubai
Daniil Medvedev qualified for the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships after defeating Jenson Brooksby in straight sets.
It was a routine victory for the third seed, who won 6-2 6-1 in just 58 minutes to book his spot in the last four.
It was a ruthless start from Medvedev, who converted his first break point opportunity in the opening game as he eventually moved into a 3-1 lead.
Though Brooksby saved a break point in the fifth game, Medvedev broke again on his way to winning the first set, while starting the second in the exact same fashion.
Medvedev eventually clinched victory with his third match point, while taking Brooksby's serve three times in the second.
