Man City players are 'more together than ever', says Anderson after Anfield triumph
Elliot Anderson declared Manchester City's players are "more together than ever" in the wake of their guilty Premier League verdict, following Saturday's 3-0 win at Liverpool.
During the international break, the Premier League confirmed City had been found guilty of all charges relating to serious breaches of the competition's financial rules between 2009-10 and 2017-18, and the majority of charges relating to their failure to co-operate with the League's investigation.
City continue to argue their innocence and have appealed against the verdict, although that has not stopped talk of potential punishments – ranging from fines to point deductions, relegations and the stripping of historic titles – from dominating the headlines.
But Enzo Maresca's players did not let the external noise affect their performance against Liverpool on Sunday, as they earned a dominant 3-0 victory at Anfield.
City are the only team to win all six of their games in the Premier League this campaign, as Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki struck after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off.
Cherki's goal capped a superb team performance from City, who completed 41 passes in the build-up, the longest for any Premier League goal since Phil Foden netted for them against Nottingham Forest in September 2023 (46 passes).
City were given a frosty reception on Merseyside, and Anderson admits the way others have spoken about their guilty verdict has given them additional motivation.
"We're all so together, more together than ever and I think we have to be like that," Anderson said, as quoted by ESPN.
"We've got to stick together. I think it really brings us together. It gives you that determination to come out here, everyone is against you, and turn them over, which we did.
"We have got some outstanding players and an outstanding coach, so we're only going to get better, and I look forward to that."

Having won at Anfield with Nottingham Forest in 2024-25 (1-0) and 2025-26 (3-0), Anderson is the seventh player to win on his first three away starts against Liverpool in the Premier League.
He controlled Sunday's game, racking up more touches (100), accurate passes (71/78) and successful duels (11/17) than any other player on the pitch.
City put up 1.21 expected goals in the second half of the match, having only registered 0.07 xG in the first half, and Anderson hailed their improvement after the interval.
"In the second half we showed a lot more quality than in the first half," he added.
"It was very noisy in the first half, but we really managed to quieten them in the second half, carried out the plan better and scored three really good goals."
City have another huge game to look forward to on Wednesday, as they welcome two-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain to the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.
