Leeds United have confirmed defender Max Wober has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Wober joined Leeds – who were then under the management of Jesse Marsch – from the American's former club Salzburg in January 2023.

He made 19 appearances throughout his first half-season at the club, though he was then loaned to Borussia Monchengladbach following Leeds' relegation to the Championship.

He only played a minor role as Daniel Farke led Leeds to the Championship title in 2024-25, before having another loan stint in Germany, with Werder Bremen, in 2025-26 as his parent club finished 14th in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old is the fifth player to leave Leeds this summer, after goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier, right-back Isaac Schmidt and centre-back Pascal Struijk. 

In terms of incomings, Farke's side have brought in Harry Wilson on a free transfer from Fulham, while Tarik Muharemovic arrived from Sassuolo in a €40m (£34m) deal.
