Klopp plans to coach again but says Real Madrid speculation is 'nonsense'
Jurgen Klopp believes he will manage again in the coming years but has described reports that he has held talks with Real Madrid as "nonsense".
Klopp called time on his glittering, nine-year spell in charge of Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season, having won the Premier League and Champions League trophies with the Reds, in addition to the FA Cup, two EFL Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
He subsequently took on a role as head of global football with Red Bull, though he continues to be linked with the biggest jobs in European football.
Madrid could be in need of another new head coach ahead of next season, having replaced Xabi Alonso with Alvaro Arbeloa in January.
Los Blancos are four points behind Barcelona at the top of LaLiga and will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals, and a record-extending 16th European crown may now represent their best chance of silverware this campaign.
But when asked about suggestions he was in line to replace Arbeloa, at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich, Klopp issued a firm rebuttal.
"If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now, but that's all nonsense," the German said.
"They haven't called even once, not once. My agent is there; you can ask him. They haven't called him either.
"Right now, I'm not thinking about that. Luckily, there's no reason to.
"For my age, I'm quite advanced in life, but as a coach I'm not completely finished. I haven't reached retirement age.
"Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there's nothing planned."
Klopp also confirmed he had no intention of returning to the Premier League to manage any club other than Liverpool, given his emotional ties to Anfield.

He added: "What I know definitely say is that I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100%. That's not possible."
