Keys continues return to form with victory over Muchova in Berlin
Madison Keys defeated Karolina Muchova in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Berlin Open.
The 31-year-old won 6-4 7-5 in one hour and 29 minutes to set up a last-eight clash with American compatriot Jessica Pegula.
Keys required just one break of serve to take the first, converting the only break point of the set in the seventh game to put Muchova under pressure.
Both players held serve in the first eight games of the second, but three consecutive breaks, two of which went in favour of Keys, allowed the American to clinch victory against the seventh seed.

Elina Svitolina joined Keys in the quarter-finals after a routine victory over Eva Lys in the German capital.
Svitolina won 6-3 6-2 in just 71 minutes and will face either Alexandra Eala or Elena Rybakina in the next round.
Linda Noskova also booked her place in the last eight, defeating Diane Parry 6-2 6-2 earlier on Thursday.
Keys regaining confidence ahead of Wimbledon
Keys has fallen down the WTA rankings since her Australian Open triumph in 2025, but she is starting to regain her form ahead of Wimbledon.
She reached the last 16 at the French Open, before losing to eventual semi-finalist Diana Shnaider, while she retired injured in the Paris Challengers tournament showpiece prior to Roland-Garros.
A tough test lies ahead for Keys against Pegula, a close friend; Pegula knocked Keys out in the last 16 of the Australian Open earlier this year.
Svitolina is also building steam ahead of Wimbledon, picking up her second win since her semi-final exit at the French Open.
The Ukrainian has now reached eight quarter-finals this season, and has already won two titles on the tour in 2026.
