London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Sweden forward Rosa Kafaji from Women's Super League rivals Arsenal.

Kafaji joined the Gunners in August 2024 from BK Hacken and scored her only WSL goal for the club in a 2-0 victory at West Ham that October.

After struggling for regular minutes at the Emirates Stadium, Kafaji spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Brighton, netting twice in 19 WSL appearances for the Seagulls.

Now, she has penned a three-year deal with the ambitious Lionesses, who have made headlines by bringing in two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas and former England goalkeeper Mary Earps ahead of their second season in the WSL.

London City's first campaign at the top table resulted in a sixth-place finish, and owner Michele Kang has targeted Champions League qualification in the coming seasons.

Their busy start to the transfer window has also seen them bring in Kadidiatou Diani from Lyon, in a deal reportedly worth in excess of £500,000, while Putellas' former Barcelona team-mate Mapi Leon has also joined alongside Germany forward Nicole Anyomi and Denmark defender Janni Thomsen.

Kafaji told the Lionesses' website: "It's an independent club, which is very exciting.

"I think this is a club that has high ambitions to become one of the best teams in the world, and I want to be a part of that."
