Chelsea rescued a 3-3 draw against Johor Darul Ta'zim to round out their pre-season tour of Asia.

Sunday's match came just 24 hours after Chelsea had beaten AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta, and Xabi Alonso made a raft of changes.

Liam Delap led Chelsea's line, and he converted two spot-kicks to put the Blues ahead by the 62nd minute.

JDT, the reigning Malaysian champions, took the lead when Arif Aiman tucked home from close range early on.

However, Delap drew a clumsy shirt pull from Kevin Medina just before half-time, and he duly sent Syihan Hazmi the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Delap doubled up after Oscar Arribas felled Jamie Gittens, but the Spaniard immediately atoned as his free-kick deflected in off the Chelsea wall to restore parity.

Bergson thought he had snatched a memorable win for JDT in the 86th minute, yet there was another twist as Mykhailo Mudryk curled in a cross. Delap did not make a clean contact with his header, but the unfortunate Cristian Glauder turned into his own net.

Chelsea's back-up brigade put themselves in the shop window

With the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo playing on Saturday, this was very much a second-string Chelsea team.

However, some of Alonso's reserve options did take their opportunity to shine.

Delap led the game for shots (six), with three of those hitting the target, albeit two of course came from 12 yards out.

The former Ipswich Town striker could have doubled his tally in the first half, but was denied by Hazmi when one-on-one.

His strike partner, Nicolas Jackson, led the way for chances created (four), and both players have been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Neither of them did themselves any harm of securing a transfer, though Alonso will want to see much more from his team defensively, even if it was not his first-choice back line, with JDT creating 1.57 expected goals (xG) from 12 attempts, six of which were on target.
