Jaiswal enjoyed 'very special' century against England
Yashasvi Jaiswal enjoyed his "very special" century as India took control of their first Test against England.
The India opener scored 101 off 158 balls to reach his fifth Test hundred, and third against England, before being bowled out by Ben Stokes (2-43).
Thanks to another century from new captain Shubman Gill (127 not out) and an additional 65 not out from Rishabh Pant, India finished the first day on 359-3.
Jaiswal could not hide his elation at scoring his hundred after the close of play when speaking to BBC Today.
"It was very special, it meant a lot to me," said Jaiswal.
"I really enjoyed it because I have worked so much before the series, after the IPL.
"I just wanted to get in and do something for my team, for my country and for myself after the work I have put in. I loved it.

"There is no secret. I just try to work very hard and have the will and desire to do well whenever I have the opportunity. I will just keep trying to put my team first.
"I know in this game, you are going to be under pressure. But I really enjoy it and want to face that. I'm really grateful and blessed."
Jaiswal has now scored centuries on his Test debut, along with his first games in England and Australia, something he dreamed of doing.
Jaiswal added: "Definitely, I have the desire and will. I have dreamed about things that have happened in my life. I just try to focus on my process. Whatever happens, I just keep going and will try my best every single day.
"When these things happen, I'm very happy, but I know that the next day I need to start focusing on my process and work."
England bowling coach Tim Southee said it was a difficult day for the England team, but the mood is still good as they know they can perform with the bat.
"The guys are good," said Southee. "The strength of this side is that things can be tough at times, but they try not to get too caught up in the emotions of bad days.
"It was a tough day, but we will get our opportunity to bat soon. We will come back tomorrow and try to make some inroads.
"There is a bit on offer. The openers did well early on, particularly [KL] Rahul. It's not easy, but we will get our chance with the bat. The outfield is lightning fast, and days like these are days you can learn from. We can use this to grow our game."
