Sunrisers Hyderabad booked their place in the Indian Premier League play-offs with a five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings.

Ishan Kishan's 70 off 47 played a crucial role as Sunrisers chased down 181 with an over to spare, with Chennai now facing the prospect of elimination with one game to go.

Chennai won the toss and chose to bat first, but saw Sanju Samson (27 off 13) and Urvil Patel (13 off 8) both dismissed inside the powerplay.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (15 off 21) failed to get going, with Pat Cummins (3-28) starring with the ball, but Dewald Brevis' 44 off 26 saw the Super Kings set a modest total of 180-7.

Despite seeing Travis Head (6) caught and bowled by Mukesh Choudhary (2-36) early on, Kishan and Klaasen (47 off 26) put together a partnership of 75 to get Sunrisers back on track.

Salil Arora (10 off 5) and Ravichandran Smaran (5 off 2) got the visitors over the line, with a top-two finish still on the cards for Hyderabad.
