Marc Guehi is "learning every day" at Manchester City as the defender looks to help them win the Premier League title this season.

City are currently five points behind league leaders Arsenal, but have a game in hand on the Gunners.

Guehi has been a crucial addition to Pep Guardiola's side, making an immediate impact following his move from Crystal Palace in January.

He has played the full 90 minutes in each of his five league games so far, also winning all five matches, while also scoring against Salford City in the FA Cup.

With a trip to Leeds United up next for City, Guehi is relishing his time with Guardiola at the club.

"Since I came here, everyone has been so welcoming – players and staff. I have had to change my game completely. I am learning every day," said Guehi.

"When to pass the ball, committing players – so many aspects I am learning on the job. It’s been great because I have had a lot of help.

"How you see Pep on TV is what he is like – passionate, intense and a winner. He wants to play his way.

"I am just glad I have the opportunity to be here."

Leeds will be no easy task for City, though, with Daniel Farke's side picking up points on the road against Chelsea and Aston Villa in their last two games.

Anton Stach marked his return from injury in style last time out against Villa, scoring a free-kick from close to 35 yards out.

The German midfielder believes Leeds have all the right attributes to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

"I think you can see that we are a whole team on the pitch," said Stach.

"We try to help each other. When somebody is making a mistake, then another one is there.

"And I think only like this you can survive in this league. It is so important. And paired with this, we have a good quality. It is nice to have."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Leeds United – Anton Stach

Three of Stach's four Premier League goals have been direct free-kicks, with only Ian Harte in 2000-01 (four) scoring more in a Premier League season for Leeds.

Stach is the first player to score three free-kicks in his debut Premier League season since James Maddison in 2018-19 (three for Leicester) and only Laurent Robert in 2001-02 for Newcastle has more in his first season (five).

Manchester City – Erling Haaland

Leeds-born striker Haaland scored two Premier League goals on his last visit to Elland Road in December 2022 for City, although he has not netted in his two home games against Leeds.

No visiting player has scored 2+ goals in consecutive Premier League visits to Elland Road.

MATCH PREDICTION: MANCHESTER CITY WIN

City have won their last two away league games against Leeds – only once have they won three consecutively, doing so in their first three visits to Elland Road between 1924 and 1928.

And Leeds have lost each of their last five Premier League games against City, having lost just four of their first 16 against them in the competition (W7 D5).

City will play this match a day before Arsenal face Chelsea. City have only lost one of their last 14 Premier League games when playing the day before the Gunners (W10 D3), a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle in November earlier this season.

However, Leeds have not lost any of their last 25 league or play-off matches at Elland Road that have kicked off after 5pm local time (W20 D5) since a 6-1 defeat to Liverpool in April 2023.

Since the 2017-18 season, City have only conceded 2+ goals in three of their 52 Premier League games against newly promoted teams – two were against Leeds and the other was against Farke’s Norwich in September 2019 (lost 3-2).
