Glasner vows changes after latest Forest setback
Oliver Glasner admitted something must change at Nottingham Forest after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Brentford left them 19th in the Premier League.
Nikola Milenkovic inadvertently turned Dango Ouattara's cross into his own net before Igor Thiago wrapped up the points late on, helped by another unfortunate deflection off the Serbia defender.
At 1-0, Ryan Yates had come closest to restoring parity for the visitors, but his diving header drifted over the crossbar when Forest appeared poised to strike back.
The result means Glasner is still searching for a first league victory since September's triumph over Aston Villa, with Forest now winless in five Premier League matches, losing four of them.
Forest have also failed to score in five of their nine Premier League games this season. No side has done so more often, and that is despite having more expected goals (xG) than their opponents in seven of those nine matches.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the defeat, the Austrian admitted change was required. .
"It's the same story as every week, but if things always happen in the same way, there's a pattern," Glasner said. "Today it's completely clear, we have to change something."
It is a stark assessment from a manager who arrived at Forest in July after a hugely successful spell with Crystal Palace, who he guided to FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League glory.
Glasner also pointed to recurring errors at both ends of the pitch.
"We are making too many mistakes. This just can't be. It's so obvious. We are slow, making the same mistakes, always different players," he added,
"If you miss chances all the time, it's also a pattern. I don't want to talk about statistics because they don't count. We didn't score a goal and we conceded two."

Forest's lack of cutting edge remains a major concern as no side has scored fewer Premier League goals than the Tricky Trees this season, with just six to their name.
Glasner did reserve praise for Brentford's second goal, describing it as a "fantastic counter-attack."
The move was finished by Thiago, who found the net for just the second time in the Premier League this season.
"It's a good feeling," the Brazilian said. "I'm delighted to score one more goal for Brentford.
"I must thank the fans because they have been so supportive of me throughout the whole journey.
"When people believe in you, you feel like you can go even more."
Brentford's victory keeps Keith Andrews' side sixth in the table and moves them to within two points of the Premier League's top four.
