Gilgeous-Alexander 'let the game come' to him against Timberwolves
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander says he let the "game come to me" after helping the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.
The Thunder stormed to a 118-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves to extend their advantage after Game 2 of the series.
Gilgeous-Alexander led the way, scoring 38 points, one day after being named the NBA's MVP, and made 12-of-21 field goals and 13-of-15 free throws.
He also finished with eight assists and three steals as he matched his playoff career-high points total.
Jalen Williams had 26 points and 10 rebounds, and Chet Holmgren added 22 points in a dominant performance for the Thunder.
Gilgeous-Alexander was given the MVP award in front of the home crowd just minutes before the opening tip on Thursday, and admitted his emotions were running high after getting the trophy.
"I was a little bit too juiced up," Gilgeous-Alexander said.
"I was like, 'Nah, that's [forcing it] probably not the way to go'. I wanted to just let the game come to me.

"Lean on my team-mates, play through them, play off of them. I just didn't want to force the issue. Let the game come to me.
"I'm happy we won, so I can really enjoy the last couple of days, soak it all up. That really helps."
In the past six quarters, Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 58 points on 20-of-35 shooting.
That is after making a slow start to the series, by his standards, as he shot just 2-of-13 in the first half of Game 1 before he found his groove.
"He's just got an unbelievable ability to not be in a groove and get himself there almost instantaneously," Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said.
"You never feel like the next play is going to be a continuation of a lack of rhythm or a couple of misses.
"You always feel like he's always getting himself going for the next possession. So just great mental toughness, great consistency."
Game 3 will take place in Minneapolis on Saturday.
