Felix Auger-Aliassime reached his first French Open final with a commanding 6-3 7-5 6-1 victory over Alejandro Tabilo.

Auger-Aliassime, who has reached four previous grand slam quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals twice – both at the US Open – fired off 17 aces in a serving masterclass.

He only gave up three break points and saved each of them, with two coming in the opening set, as he won in straight sets for the first time at this year's tournament.

The Canadian broke in game four of the opener before digging out a big hold en route to moving ahead, though Tabilo looked to be coming into the contest after producing some big serves of his own.

Tabilo appeared to be in the ascendency for much of the second set, with Auger-Aliassime taken to deuce in three of his opening four service games, but the fourth seed held firm and eventually broke in game 12 to take another step towards the last eight.

And he stepped up his level further in the third, breaking in games three and five, either side of a perfect hold in which he served four straight aces.

Auger-Aliassime finished the job in style as his deep winner just caught the baseline, and he will face Flavio Cobolli for a semi-final berth.

Cobolli saw off a stern challenge from American Zachary Svajda in the last 16, triumphing 6-2 6-3 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (7-5).

Data Debrief: Felix completes the set

Auger-Aliassime has now reached at least the quarter-finals at all four grand slams, becoming just the third active non-European male player to do so, after Kei Nishikori and Alex de Minaur.

Since the start of July 2025 and the start of the North American hard-court swing, Auger-Aliassime has 47 victories at ATP-level events.

Only Jannik Sinner (69) and Alexander Zverev (54) boast more wins in that time, with Auger-Aliassime now a favourite to clinch his first major title.
