Elliot Daly's last-gasp converted try saw England snatch a dramatic 26-25 victory over France in the Six Nations.

The hosts appeared set for back-to-back defeats in this year's championship until Daly went over in the 79th minute, with Fin Smith converting to seal the win at the Allianz Stadium.

Fresh from their 43-0 drubbing of Wales, France looked the brighter of the two sides early on, though saw two glorious opportunities to break the deadlock go begging following uncharacteristic knock-ons from Antoine Dupont and Damian Penaud.

However, they did strike first when Louis Bialle-Biarrey collected Penaud's clever punt to cross, though England levelled before half-time through Ollie Lawrence.

Thomas Ramos kicked Les Bleus back in front at 13-7, before Tommy Freeman went over from Fin Smith's cross-kick, though Marcus Smith was unsuccessful with his conversion attempt.

France took advantage, with quick lay-offs from Dupont and Bielle-Biarrey opening the door for Penaud to cross in the 61st minute.

England responded to edge their noses ahead through Fin Baxter, but the visitors regained their advantage at 25-19 when Bielle-Biarrey crossed for a second time.

However, Steve Borthwick's side were awarded a penalty with two minutes remaining, and Fin Smith found touch near the five-metre line. They worked the lineout well with Daly bursting through to touch down, then Fin Smith converted to snatch victory from under France's noses.

Data Debrief: England stop Les Bleus in their tracks

England ended a run of three straight defeats against France, who also suffered just their second loss in 12 Tests.

The hosts have now gone on to win all three Six Nations meetings between the sides that were level at half-time at the Allianz Stadium - also prevailing in 2011 and 2017.

It was yet another dramatic clash involving England, who have seen 16 of their last 18 matches decided by a single-figure margin.
