England ended their tri-series campaign with a consolation victory over Sri Lanka in Lahore.

After losing to Pakistan either side of a dramatic defeat to Sri Lanka in their first three games, England signed off with a 55-run victory on Thursday.

Ben Duckett's 167 off 132 deliveries played a key role in England's total of 386-5, the highest ODI total at Gaddafi Stadium.

He formed a 163-run opening partnership with Tom Banton (74), while solid contributions from captain Harry Brook (44) and Jordan Cox (43) set England on their way to a strong total despite losing the toss.

Kamindu Mendis (4) was dismissed early on in Sri Lanka's chase by Sonny Baker (2-75), while Liam Dawson (4-49) removed Avishka Fernando (48) before his half-century.

Kusal Mendis (89) and Pavan Rathnayake (118) threatened to pull off another stunning chase, but Dawson kept taking wickets at key intervals.

Dunith Wellalage's (1) calamitous run out in the 44th over proved costly, with Rathnayake unable to carry Sri Lanka over the line on this occasion.

Duckett stars again in Lahore

It was a special innings from Duckett, whose 167 is the second-highest score in men's ODIs without hitting a single six, after David Warner's 173 against South Africa in 2016.

Duckett set a new career-best in ODIs, eclipsing his 165 against Australia in 2025, which also came in Lahore; three of Duckett's six ODI centuries have come in Lahore.

Banton continues to take his chance too, having scored five half-centuries in his last six ODI innings.

Rathnayake was not able to celebrate his third ODI century, all of which have come against England, with a win, but will hope to carry his form into Saturday's final.

He has scored 350 in this tri-series at an average of 116.66, scoring two hundreds and one half-century.

But there may be concerns around Sri Lanka's bowling after conceding the highest total at the venue, while Eshan Malinga (1-101) became the second Sri Lankan bowler to concede 100+ runs in a single ODI innings.
