Jack Draper has announced he will miss the French Open with a knee tendon injury.

The Briton retired from his match with Tomas Etcheverry at the Barcelona Open earlier this month with the problem, which will cause him to miss the second grand slam of the year.

Draper also missed the Australian Open in 2026 as he recovered from an arm injury, which sidelined him for almost eight months.

The former world number four has played just nine matches across five tournaments since making his return, most notably picking up a win over Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells.

The 24-year-old was knocked out in the second round at the Dubai Tennis Championships before losing his opening match at the Miami Open to Reilly Opelka, which preceded his knee injury in Barcelona.

Draper wrote on his Instagram story: "My knee is on the mend, and I've started back hitting balls, but, unfortunately, I have been advised not to play Roland-Garros.

"As gutting as it is to miss another slam, the advice is not to rush straight back into playing five-set tennis on clay.

"Off the back of the arm injury I sustained last year, I've been restricted with my training and by giving myself the time to heal and build, I can be the player I want to be out there once again. See you soon!"
