Dinusha stars on debut as Sri Lanka take control against Bangladesh
Sri Lanka made a strong start to their second Test against Bangladesh after they picked up eight wickets on a rain-affected day in Colombo on Wednesday.
Bangladesh slumped to 220-8 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground as Sri Lanka debutant Sonal Dinusha (2-25) was one of three bowlers to take two wickets.
Asitha Fernando (2-43) was the first to strike, bowling out Anamul Haque (0) in the fifth over before Mominul Haque (21) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (eight) soon followed.
Shadam Islam top-scored for the tourists with 46 from 93 deliveries, but fell to Tharindu Rathnayake (1-63), though Bangladesh did improve after lunch.
A delayed start to the second session due to rain saw Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das put on a stand of 67 off 113 balls, with the latter dropped twice in that time.
But either side of tea, Dinusha changed Sri Lanka's fortunes, removing Litton (34) in his second over before taking the wicket of Mushfiqur (35) shortly after.
Mehidy Hasan and Nayeem Hasan put on fighting knocks of 31 and 25 respectively, but were unable to build on their display as the pair were dismissed within six overs of each other.
Bangladesh will start the second day with Taijul Islam (nine not out) and Edabot Hossain (five not out) at the crease.
From the field to the stands, a true Lion always supports his pride!

We were delighted to spot Angelo Mathews, who recently bid farewell to Test cricket, enjoying the action at the SSC as a spectator during the second Test. Your presence means a lot, champ! #SLvBAN… pic.twitter.com/EcdjQVAbf5
Data Debrief: Dinusha enjoys dream debut
After drawing the opening Test, Sri Lanka did the damage with the ball this time around to put them in a strong position.
The hosts appeared to have unearthed a new gem in Dinusha, who has been given the huge task of stepping up to replace retired Sri Lankan legend Angelo Mathews.
And he made a strong start, with his first three overs all maidens, while they also included the wicket of Das. He became just the fourth player to achieve the unique feat on his Test debut.
