Diallo scores twice on debut for Man Utd Under-23s
Amad Diallo marked his first appearance for the Manchester United Under-23s with two goals in Saturday's thrilling 6-3 victory over Liverpool.
The 18-year-old winger put United ahead, winning the ball back near the Liverpool box before producing a composed finish.
Diallo made two further promising runs into the area in the first half but could not capitalise, as United let a 2-0 lead slip before half-time.
However, he helped his side ease to a high-scoring win in the end, although striker Joe Hugill was the star of the show with four goals.
Diallo got his second from the penalty spot, a cool Panenka finish sealing an empathic win after Hannibal Mejbri had been brought down.
He had five attempts on goal in total, hitting the target three times, as the Red Devils enjoyed a high-scoring triumph.
Diallo completed a move to Old Trafford this month after an agreement had been reached with Atalanta in the previous transfer window.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seemed eager to bring Diallo into the senior picture, with Jesse Lingard and Facundo Pellistri being allowed to leave on loan.
"With Amad, it's a different scenario," he said last week. "He's going through a good training regime and training programme. He's doing well and it won't be too long before I can bring him into the squad."
