Curry: Warriors going in right direction after win over Minnesota
Steph Curry insisted the Golden State Warriors still had plenty of things to improve on despite back-to-back wins, following their victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Curry scored a season-high 44 points while Yaxel Lendeborg had 26 as Golden State won 119-114 against a Minnesota team who were missing the injured Anthony Edwards.
The Warriors had opened their season with three straight losses against the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns, but have now got back on track.
And their latest victory was down to the performance of Curry, who eclipsed 40 points for an NBA record 46th time since he turned 30.
He tied LeBron James for the most 40-point games at age 35 or older (15), while he also chipped in with eight rebounds, six assists and six 3-pointers.
The Warriors led by as many as 24 points, but Minnesota eventually forced a batch of turnovers, sped up the older team and threatened deep into the fourth quarter.
Despite some nervy moments, Curry and the Warriors ultimately closed, and the 12-time NBA All-Star believes his team are now heading in the right direction after a difficult start.
"We still have a lot of things to [improve], but you like learning lessons while you're winning," Curry said. "The 2-1 road trip is great. Step in the right direction."

The Warriors' opening three games saw them let slip a 12-point lead in the final three minutes of their home opener against the Grizzlies.
But after losing to Phoenix, Golden State beat the Denver Nuggets 134-114, with rookie Lendeborg starring with 31 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.
With the likes of the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat all coming up, many were worried about the Warriors' early-season spiral.
"There's a slight bit of relief," Curry added. "But still an understanding that in the Memphis game, the second half, we know we can play better."
The Warriors return to San Francisco for a six-game home stretch that begins with Luka Doncic and the Lakers on Friday.
Los Angeles crushed the Warriors 127-105 in the opener and Lendeborg got in an altercation with Doncic that spilt over after the final whistle was blown.
Asked whether he was looking forward to the rematch, Lendeborg said, "Absolutely. Yes, I am," he said. I'll talk about that more on Friday."
