Championship: Wrexham edge eight-goal thriller with Ipswich to boost top-six hopes
Wrexham boosted their hopes of finishing in the Championship play-offs after coming out on top 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller against fellow top-six hopefuls Ipswich Town.
Phil Parkinson's side came from 3-2 down to emerge victorious in a crazy game at SToK Cae Ras, which also saw Ipswich miss the chance to close the gap on the top two.
Kieffer Moore put Wrexham into a sixth-minute lead against his former employers, only for Anis Mehmeti's strike 14 minutes later to restore parity.
Wrexham retook the lead when Josh Windass, who teed up Moore's opener, finished past Christian Walton, but the Tractor Boys hit back once again as Ivan Azon gathered Jack Taylor's neat flick before picking out the bottom-right corner.
Ipswich took the lead for the first time in the game two minutes after the restart when Cedric Kipre fired beyond Arthur Okonkwo from around 20 yards out.
However, Wrexham roared back just after the hour after Nathan Broadhead's shot deflected into the path of George Thomason, who tucked home his first goal for the club.
Callum Doyle then nodded Lewis O'Brien's corner into the net before Broadhead concluded the scoring four minutes from time with a smart finish from inside the penalty area.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Coventry City strengthened their grip on top spot after goals from Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni sealed a 2-0 win over West Brom.
Frank Lampard's side were fresh from their victory over second-placed Middlesbrough last time out, and started quickly when Mason-Clark opened the scoring in the fifth minute.
The Sky Blues doubled their lead soon after through Jack Rudoni, who let fly from the edge of the penalty area and saw his left-footed strike slam into the top-left corner.
West Brom were unable to respond after the break, leaving them without a win in eight games under new boss Eric Ramsay and just a point above the bottom three.
Coventry's day was made even better by Middlesbrough's failure to beat Oxford United, with Kim Hellberg's side held to a goalless draw at Riverside Stadium.
Stanley Mills and Myles Peart-Harris hit the woodwork in a dominant first-half for the U's, but Middlesbrough were unable to find a winner despite improving after the break.

At the opposite end of the table, Gary Rowett was denied a debut win in charge of Leicester City as Ben Wilmot's 89th-minute leveller helped Stoke City snatch a 2-2 draw.
Wilmot had powerfully headed the Potters into a third-minute lead, only for Divine Mukasa and Harry Winks to put Leicester ahead with 14 minutes remaining.
The Stoke captain then prodded Lamine Cisse's cross to the back post into the net. Ben Nelson and Luke Thomas could have won it for Leicester, but their efforts hit the woodwork in second-half stoppage time.
And that proved to be good news for Portsmouth, who pulled six points clear of the Foxes with a stunning 3-1 victory away to play-off chasing Millwall.
Gustavo Caballero and John Swift put Pompey two goals in front before Casper De Norre struck back, only for Marlon Pack's 67th-minute goal to seal all three points at The Den.
Data Debrief: Wrexham deliver another Hollywood comeback
Having played out a goalless stalemate in the reverse fixture earlier this season, many may have expected a cagey affair between Wrexham and Ipswich, but the two promotion chasers provided an enthralling attacking display.
Wrexham registered an expected goals total of 2.09 from their 17 shots, 10 of which were on target, compared to Ipswich's 0.81 from their 13 attempts, though it was Parkinson's team's powers of recovery that were on show once again.
Wrexham have now won 18 points from losing positions in the Championship this season, with only Watford (25) recovering more.
