Patson Daka rescued a point for Leicester City as they drew 2-2 with Preston North End to keep themselves within touching distance of safety.

Leicester are 22nd in the Championship, but managed to stay within a point of Portsmouth, who drew 1-1 with Norwich City, thanks to Daka's late show.

Having opened the scoring through Daka in the fourth minute at King Power Stadium, the Foxes fell behind as Preston struck through Andrew Moran and Benjamin Whiteman before half-time.

Yet Daka equalised in the 81st minute, capitalising on a defensive mix-up.

Blackburn Rovers eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win over Birmingham City, while Oxford United, who sit 13th, held Hull City to a 1-1 draw.

Hull were not the only play-off hopefuls to be frustrated on Friday, as Wrexham mounted an impressive comeback from 2-0 down against West Brom, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Swansea City also hit back, coming from two goals behind to draw 3-3 with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Tom Cannon's goal in the 64th minute seemed to have put the Blades on course for three points, but Adam Idah scored and then set up Eom Ji-Sung to snatch a share of the spoils.

Data Debrief: Wasteful Leicester need a hero

Leicester had a whopping 28 shots and got 10 of those on target, and those chances were worth 2.01 expected goals to Preston's 0.41, but ultimately the Foxes will need more bite if they are to stay up.

They have won just one of their last 14 league games (D6 L7), and with Portsmouth having a game in hand, and West Brom now four points ahead, the pressure is on to avoid back-to-back relegations.

If they are to get out of trouble, Daka could be crucial. His goals came from four shots, three of which were on target, while he also created three chances.
