Trevoh Chalobah is relishing the opportunity to work with Cesc Fabregas again after sealing a move to Como from Chelsea.

Chalobah, who played alongside Fabregas for one season in 2018-19 at Stamford Bridge, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Serie A side.

It has been reported that Chalobah's move was worth up to €35m (£30m) including add-ons, ending his 19-year association with Chelsea having risen through their academy.

During his time with the Blues, Chalobah made 151 appearances across all competitions, winning five major honours, including the Conference League title in 2024-25.

The 27-year-old became a key part of Chelsea's defence in January 2025 after he was recalled from his loan spell from Crystal Palace.

But following the addition of Maxence Lacroix from Palace, Chalobah was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and he is looking forward to being a part of Como's "ambitious" project.

"I'm thrilled and honoured to be here at Como. It's an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special," Chalobah told the club's website.

"I can't wait to bring my experience to the team, feel the incredible atmosphere at the stadium, and connect with the fans.

"I will give my absolute all every single day to make history together."

Chalobah arrives in Italy having helped England finish third at this summer's World Cup, though he did only make one substitute appearance for the Three Lions.

He joins a Como side that are preparing for their first season in the Champions League after they claimed a surprise fourth-place finish in Serie A last term.

"Trevoh is an important signing for us and a player who represents the level of ambition we have at this club," Como boss Fabregas said.

"He has competed and won at the highest level, but he is also hungry to begin a new chapter and continue improving.

"He gives us strength, speed and personality in defence, as well as the technical quality to build from the back.

"He is a leader who can raise the level of the team, and I am very happy that he has chosen Como."

Chalobah could be in line to make his debut against a familiar opponent in Arsenal, with Como facing Mikel Arteta's side in a pre-season friendly next Wednesday.

Como conclude their pre-season preparations against Liverpool and Alula SC before their Serie A campaign begins away to Udinese on August 22.
