The Chicago Bulls bolstered their roster for a play-off push on Tuesday by acquiring former top-five draft pick Jaden Ivey from the Detroit Pistons and veteran Mike Conley from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric went from Chicago to the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons, who also received a 2026 first-round protected pick swap from the Timberwolves.

Chicago (24-26) entered Tuesday’s NBA action in ninth place in the East, with the Atlanta Hawks (24-27) just one-half game back in the 10th and final Play-In position in the conference.

The Charlotte Hornets (23-28), meanwhile, have won seven straight contests to pull within one game of Atlanta.

The Pistons (36-12) selected Ivey with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and he averaged 15.8 points, 4.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds while appearing in 151 games over his first two seasons.

Ivey then averaged 17.6 points, 4.1 boards and 4.0 assists in 30 games in 2024-25 before having his season ended by a left fibula fracture on January 1.

He played in one preseason game in October before needing right knee surgery and didn’t make his season debut until November 22.

Ivey is averaging just 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 33 games.

The 38-year-old Conley, in his 19th NBA season, averaged 4.4 points and 2.9 assists in 44 games for the Timberwolves (31-20), who are in fifth place in the West.

Huerter appeared in 44 games for the Bulls and averaged 10.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Saric is on the move again after Chicago acquired him from the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

He only appeared in five games for the Kings and has not played since December 20.
