Brighton 3-0 Roma: Rutter and Ayari dismantle Gasperini's men
Roma's indifferent pre-season continued as they capped off their tour of the UK with a 3-0 loss to Brighton.
Gian Piero Gasperini's team were beaten 4-1 by Cardiff City and then overcame Newport County by the same scoreline in their two previous outings.
But they proved no match for Premier League opposition as Brighton cruised to victory at the Amex Stadium.
Georginio Rutter opened the scoring with a sensational left-footed strike in the 29th minute, bending it into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Yasin Ayari then doubled Brighton's tally with a fine first-time effort in the 40th minute.
Brighton's two goalscorers combined to make it 3-0 early in the second half. Rutter cut back for Ayari to pounce, with the Sweden international taking a fantastic first touch before finishing from close range.
Rutter missed a great chance to extend Brighton's lead, but Roma never threatened a comeback.

Seagulls clip Roma's wings
Roma will be playing Champions League football in 2026-27, but they look far short of a team that would be capable of challenging Europe's elite.
They managed 10 shots, but did not get a single attempt on target, despite Gasperini starting a first-choice front three consisting of Donyell Malen, Paulo Dybala and Matias Soule.
Brighton, on the other hand, had 12 attempts, with Rutter responsible for five of those.
With Danny Welbeck having left for Chelsea, Rutter is likely to be Fabian Hurzeler's go-to forward this season, and he was in inspired form, also teeing up two chances, including his assist for Ayari's second.
Brighton host another Serie A team, Bologna, in their final pre-season fixture, while Roma round out their preparations by facing Borussia Dortmund.
