Bournemouth missed a great chance to apply more pressure on the European places as they were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The spoils were shared at Selhurst Park, where a general lack of quality in both penalty areas was the story of the encounter.
Palace had to play more than half the contest with a numerical disadvantage, after Chris Richards was dismissed for a second bookable offence in first-half stoppage time.
Nevertheless, Bournemouth were unable to capitalise while having the extra man, with the breakthrough ultimately eluding both sides.
The Cherries stay eighth and are five points adrift of seventh-placed Aston Villa, who play Newcastle United later on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Palace remain five points behind Andoni Iraola's side in 12th.

Data Debrief: Cherries make history despite stalemate
Bournemouth have drawn three consecutive Premier League away matches for only the second time, after also doing so in March/April 2017 under Eddie Howe, while no side has registered more stalemates on the road in the top flight this term (seven, level with Arsenal).
Although, the Cherries did make history by taking their points tally to 49; their highest in a single Premier League season.
Meanwhile, Palace failed to register a single shot on target in a game for the first time since their 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in March 2023.
Richards' red card was the Eagles' third in their last four Premier League games, as many dismissals as in their previous 80 matches in the competition.
Taking their tally for the season to four, it is their joint-most sendings off in a single Premier League campaign (also four in 2014-15).
