Scottie Scheffler is relishing playing at home in Dallas after storming into a six-shot lead with a second-round 63 at the CJ Cup.
The world number one started on the 10th hole and got going with an eagle on the par-five 18th, before adding six birdies on the front nine without dropping a shot.
That capped a fine performance to follow an opening-day 61, leaving Scheffler top of the leaderboard with an impressive 18-under after the first two days of the tournament at TPC Craig Ranch.
"We're on a golf course where you've got to make some birdies, and the conditions today were changing a good amount," Scheffler said after multiple rain delays.
"Obviously, with the huge rain delay, that was a challenge as well. Getting back out and playing in some wind and some pretty wet fairways, but overall, it's great to be playing at home."
Play was suspended for darkness with Scheffler boasting a six-shot lead over Sam Stevens, who shot 65 on Friday.
Ricky Castillo is another shot back in third, with Jhonattan Vegas eight behind the leader heading into the third round.

"There are so many birdies out here and there's so much golf to be played, I need to keep my head down," Stevens said in his pursuit of Scheffler.
"And if I get in a situation where I'm in contention with nine holes to go, then I have some memories to draw on."
Scheffler will hope to keep Stevens at bay in his hometown, aiming for glory on the Texas stage.
"This tournament definitely means a lot to me," said Scheffler, who made his PGA Tour debut at the CJ CUP in 2014. "It's going to be a lot of fun to play here and have a chance to win."
The second round will continue on Saturday after significant weather delays saw 18 players unable to start.
