Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points, Evan Mobley added 21 and the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers bullied the New York Knicks from the start Friday night, winning 142-105 in a matchup of two of the Eastern Conference's top teams.

Only the Cavs looked elite, winning their sixth straight and improving the NBA's best record to 46-10. Cleveland has won 34 games by double digits.

Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and Karl-Anthony Towns 23 for the Knicks, who beat Chicago in overtime on Thursday in their first game back from the All-Star break. New York could not use a back-to-back as any excuse as the Cavs won in Brooklyn a night earlier. It was the Knicks' most-lopsided loss this season.

Cleveland got a scare in the first half when All-Star guard Darius Garland hit his head on the floor while taking an awkward fall. Garland, who missed significant time last season with a broken jaw, stayed in the game.

The Cavs played most of the second half without center Jarrett Allen, who injured his right hand. X-rays were negative, but he will have an MRI on Saturday.

New York was without versatile swingman Josh Hart, who missed his second straight game with a sore right knee.

Mitchell went on a tear late in the first half, dropping three 3-pointers in the final 1:43 as Cleveland opened a 27-point halftime lead.

Green leads Rockets past Edwards, Wolves

Jalen Green scored 35 points, Alperen Sengun added 24 points and 13 rebounds and the Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-115.

Green finished 12 of 24 from the floor and was 5 of 11 on 3-pointers. Amen Thompson finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Houston, which shot 50%, including 13 of 26 on 3-pointers.

Jabari Smith Jr had 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench in his first game back after missing 22 games with a broken bone in his left hand.

Anthony Edwards scored 37 points on 13-of-32 shooting, including 4 of 14 on 3-pointers. Edwards scored 25 points in the first half on 8-of-15 shooting, including 3 of 7 on 3s.

Naz Reid had 22 points and eight rebounds, Jaden McDaniels added 21 points and Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 16 points for Minnesota.

Minnesota's Mike Conley returned to the lineup after missing four games with a sprained right index finger, but he was in foul trouble for most of the night and finished with five points in 24 minutes.

Tied at 108, Green made a 3-pointer with five minutes remaining to kickstart Houston's 9-2 run to open up a seven-point lead with 48 seconds left.

Cunningham sparks run for surging Pistons

Cade Cunningham had 25 points and 12 assists and keyed a 19-0 run as the Detroit Pistons won their fifth straight game, 125-110 over the San Antonio Spurs.

Cunningham scored seven points during the run that started during the final minute of the first half and carried over into the second half.

Jalen Duren had 21 points and 15 rebounds and Tobias Harris scored 22 for Detroit. Malik Beasley scored 16, including four 3-pointers, and has made 29 from 3-point range in his last five games.

Keldon Johnson scored 28 points and De'Aaron Fox had 27 to lead San Antonio, which split back-to-back games in Austin after learning on Thursday that star Victor Wembanyama was finished for the season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder.

The Pistons outrebounded San Antonio 52-33, grabbing 19 on offence, which led to 21 second-chance points.

Detroit's 19-0 run came from long distance and short: three 3-point baskets and four layups or dunks to turn a 62-57 deficit into a 76-62 lead.
